His work as a perfumer has taken Egon Oelkers to Cannes, New York, Geneva, Paris and Hamburg, but he has primarily been formed as a person by his journeys to the Asia. Egon Oelkers looks back on a career meanwhile spanning almost 40 years. The graduate chemist commenced training as a perfumer with the long-established Haarmann & Reimer company in Holzminden in 1967. Oelkers has since achieved renown not simply with his creations, but though a parallel dedication to training a new generation of perfumers. Oelkers’ compositions are notable for their discreet luxury and fine balance of fragrances. Extensive hikes in the mountains are his most frequent source of inspiration.
