Description
The story behind this fragrance
Tuxedo Extrait de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent is a Leather fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Tuxedo Extrait de Parfum was launched in 2026. The nose behind this fragrance is Juliette Karagueuzoglou. Top notes are Saffron, Bergamot and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Violet Leaf, Leather and Rose; base notes are Patchouli, Oak and Vanilla Bean. Tuxedo 66 Patchouli is part of Yves Saint Laurent’s Le Vestiaire des Parfums collection and draws its inspiration from the couturier’s 1966 black tuxedo for women, a garment that reinterpreted a traditionally masculine code through a feminine lens. The fragrance translates this contrast into scent, exploring the tension between structured elegance and a darker, more sensual undertone. Composed by perfumer Juliette Karagueuzoglou, the extrait opens with bright, spicy notes of pink pepper and saffron, lifted by the freshness of bergamot. A floral-leathery heart of rose, leather and green violet leaf leads into a base built around patchouli that has been macerated with oakwood, creating a smoky, woody effect with a subtle liquor-like nuance. Vanilla bean absolute softens the composition and adds warmth to the leathery and woody facets, giving the perfume a dense, textured character focused on patchouli and woods.
