Rare Reef opens with a bright, slightly tart clash of citron and grapefruit, their acidity sharpened by mint's cool bite and rounded by blackcurrant's dark sweetness. As the composition settles, apricot and basil emerge—herbaceous and stone-fruited—while rose and violet leaf add a green, peppery floral spine. The base deepens into fig and dates, their honeyed warmth grounding everything, with amberwood and ambrette lending a soft, resinous amber glow that lingers like salt-dried skin.
