Black XS opens with a bright, almost peppery marigold—sharp citrus and lemon cutting through it like daylight through a crack. The sage arrives cool and slightly bitter, grounding that initial flare. Within moments, cinnamon and black cardamom kindle a warmth that feels almost spiced-tobacco-like, softened by praline's honeyed whisper and the creamy depth of tolu balsam. The base settles into dark, woody territory: palisander rosewood and ebony tree create a dense, almost smoky frame while black amber pools beneath like lacquer, and patchouli adds an earthy, slightly metallic edge that keeps everything shadowed and close to skin.
