Etude 1.2: L’Ouïe

Etude 1.2: L'Ouïe opens with the sharp, woody snap of palisander rosewood and black pepper, a salt-edged freshness cutting through like sea spray on driftwood. The heart settles into a dense, resinous warmth where oakmoss and cedar anchor deeper woody notes—sandalwood, agarwood, guaiac wood—while clove and pepper flicker beneath. Coconut and amyris add a subtle sweetness that lifts without softening the composition's austere core. As it rests, almond and tonka bean emerge, grounding the dry woods in creamy warmth, while vanilla and musk wrap around heliotrope's soft florality, leaving the skin smelling of spiced amber and weathered wood.
