Bois de Oud

Bois de Oud opens with a bright clash of geranium and lemon that cuts through floral sweetness, red berries lending tartness before incense arrives to ground the composition. As it settles, peach and rose emerge softly while sandalwood and cypriol oil create an earthy, almost smoky warmth beneath. The base unfolds into leather and castoreum—animalic and worn—anchored by woody depth, labdanum's amber-resin sweetness, and benzoin's vanilla undertone. What reads as ornamental at first becomes increasingly tactile and shadowed.
