L'Homme Libre opens with a bracing green snap—basalt-sharp violet leaf and anise's licorice whisper, brightened by bergamot's citric bite. The basil arrives herbaceous and alive, almost peppery. A warm spice core then unfolds: nutmeg's creamy dust and pink pepper's gentle heat settle the opening's verdancy into something rounded, almost creamy. Vetiver and patchouli anchor the dry-down, earth-deep and woody, with a mineral coolness that lets the earlier brightness still breathe through. It's green-to-warm rather than dark.
