Al Maqam opens with a bracing floral brightness threaded through warm agarwood—aromatic, slightly smoky. The heart deepens into amber and woody spice, softening the initial edge into something more rounded and resinous. As it settles, musk and sandalwood emerge from beneath, creating a creamy, almost skin-like warmth, while oud resurfaces in the base alongside whispers of vanilla. The vanilla doesn't sweeten so much as it grounds the woodiness, lending a gentle hum of comfort to the drydown.
