Description
The story behind this fragrance
Золотая звезда (Golden Star) by Новая Заря (The New Dawn) is a Chypre fragrance for men. Золотая звезда (Golden Star) was launched in 1947. The nose behind this fragrance is Pavel Ivanov. Top notes are Bergamot, Orange and Neroli; middle notes are Jasmine, Rose, Ylang-Ylang, Iris and Vanilla; base notes are Synthetic Civet, Opoponax, Benzoin and Oakmoss. In 1946, the Red Army was renamed into the Soviet Army, and on this occasion Glavvoentorg ordered themed perfumes in festive decoration from Novaya Zarya (The New Dawn). Naturally, such orders are not fulfilled instantly, so the Golden Star gift set was ready only for the next Soviet Army Day, i.e. in 1947. The first issues of the "Golden Star" were decorated with the inscription "29 years of the Soviet Army", but later this inscription was removed. Photos of the fragrance and its description are provided by perfumery historian and collector Victoria Vlasova.
