DUG-PA opens with warm amber and sharp clove heat, citrus brightness cutting through saffron's mineral dust—a spiced, almost medicinal top that catches the breath. The heart unfolds into something herbaceous and green: lemongrass and galbanum's crisp snap, costus's warm earthiness, all threaded through with asafoetida's savoury funk, black cardamom's smoke, and ginger's bite. Camphor and juniper add an almost incense-like clarity. As it settles, sandalwood and oud emerge from a base of musk and civet, grounding the volatility in creamy, animalic warmth—the spice softening into something resinous and deeply textured.
