Oud Deneii opens with the sharp sweetness of anise and licorice—almost medicinal, slightly confectionery—before violet and tobacco emerge in the heart, their earthy warmth softening the initial spice. The base unfolds slowly: musk and ambergris create a creamy, skin-like foundation while liatris adds a dusty, slightly soapy floral depth. Mate brings subtle bitterness and herbal tea-like warmth, geranium whispers green geometry, and woody notes ground everything in dry, resinous territory. Coumarin adds a final stroke of caramel-tonned softness, celery contributing an unexpected savory mineral edge that keeps the sweetness honest. The drydown settles into creamy musk with woody amber and that persistent herbal-floral dryness at the base.
