Description
The story behind this fragrance
Eau D'Hermes by Hermès is a Leather fragrance for women and men. Eau D'Hermes was launched in 1951. The nose behind this fragrance is Edmond Roudnitska. Top notes are Bergamot, Lavender, Lemon, Petitgrain and Sage; middle notes are Cardamom, Cumin, Cinnamon, Bourbon Geranium, Jasmine, Coriander and Cloves; base notes are Leather, Birch, Sandalwood, Cedar, Moss, Tonka Bean, Vanilla and Labdanum. Eau d’Hermès: conceived by Edmond Roudnitska in 1951 (though some sources state that it was in 1949, the same year as the launch of the first Hermès silk necktie) around a spicy, floral hesperidian theme, it takes its inspiration from the evocation of a wonderfully delicate odour. “The interior of a Hermès bag in which wafted the aroma of a perfume… A note of fine leather, wrapped in a slightly spicy citrus,” according to the composer.
