Description
The story behind this fragrance
Hymba by Sigilli is a Oriental fragrance for women and men. Hymba was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is Enrico Buccella. Top notes are Myrtle and Citruses; middle notes are Resins and Vanilla; base notes are Sandalwood, Cedar, Amber and Birch. Hymba is the name given to a semi-nomadic population living in the deserts of northern Namibia. They obviously live off what little nature has to offer them. The Hymba WOMEN extract a particular resin called Omumbiri from a plant which originates in that area (like Boswellia, where incense comes from). Other than selling it, they use it for a very particular purpose: they mix it with butter and red soil and make a compound which they rub on their bodies, thereby becoming real human sculptures with a bronze colour and a heady resin-milky scent. "I was so fascinated by it that I wanted to create a perfume inspired by the Himba women. I buy Omumbiri and in my laboratories I transform it into a resinoid to give life to this fragrance." - Enrico Buccella. Description of the perfume: This fragrance forms part of the “SIGILLI” brand, an ethnic perfume with a customary construction, having an olfactory pyramid that opens with the spicy notes of myrtle and citrus chords followed by the warm and cosy heart of vanilla and milky and resiny notes of Omumbiri. The underlying notes are woody, based on sandalwood, cedar and birch accompanied by amber.
