Neandertal Dark 2015 opens raw—green leaves and pink pepper cut through grapefruit's citrus brightness, pine and ginger snapping at the edges like weathered stone. As it settles, caraway and seaweed drift in, earthy and slightly briny, grounded by incense smoke. The base emerges slow and dense: leather and tobacco anchor a bed of amber and vetiver, while oud and agarwood deepen into something primal. Sandalwood, patchouli, and labdanum layer underneath, creating a dense, mineral finish that feels ancient and worn.
