Tragedy Perfume Oil (limited edition) is inspired by Ruby McCollister’s critically acclaimed one woman show, Tragedy , about her life long relationship with tragic actresses and ghosts growing up in a theater in Los Angeles. This autobiographical show has been performed in Los Angeles, New York and most recently Edinburgh, Scotland. Yet, its current incarnation comes in a fragrance! The scent adaptation embodies the themes of Tragedy , a nod to hyper-feminine white floral perfumes of a bygone era. It’s an ode to the ghosts of Old Hollywood, sensorially acknowledging how tragic actresses have influenced the lives of contemporary women. The scent was designed to evoke the feeling of being alone in a haunted theater, waiting to see the ghost of your favorite tragic icon… the phantasma of theater itself. And with this perfume comes a prayer, a message, a wish: Providence for the tragic girls.
