Peau de Bete

Peau de Bete opens with a peppery bite—cumin and black pepper sharp against herbal parsley and chamomile, saffron threading warmth through the top. The heart softens into woody incense: Atlas and Texas cedar frame a grassy, resinous core where styrax and guaiac wood anchor the scent, juniper and cypriol oil adding mineral, almost earthy depth. As it settles, animalic castoreum and civet emerge, lending a skin-like warmth and subtle musk that makes the woodsiness feel lived-in, intimate—less fragrance worn, more scent absorbed into skin.
