Description
The story behind this fragrance
Sacre Noir by House of Matriarch is a fragrance for women and men. Sacre Noir was launched in 2017. The nose behind this fragrance is Christi Meshell. Top notes are Fir, Plum, Orange, Spicy Notes and Sugar; middle notes are Juniper, Cypress, Oak, Myrtle, Laurels, Red Rose and Mastic or Lentisque; base notes are Incense, Peru Balsam, Fern, Oakmoss, Agarwood (Oud) and Copal. "All hail The Holly King! Joseph Sagona returns to House of Matriarch for another creative collaboration with our Perfumer Christi Meshell. During the darkest night, in the darkest hour, The Holly King emerges from the timeless enchanted forest to anoint us with the ancient purpose of the “holly-days/ holy-days” - to draw us close to one another. Holly is a theme rarely explored in High Perfumery. For all the legendary beauty and inherent magic it possesses, the tree itself has a very mild aroma - the berries none at all. Christi and Joseph offer this tribute to the Holly King with a special holiday fragrance release that will warm your heart and bring hope to the SACRE NOIR - that darkest night of Winter Solstice. Naturally, SACRE NOIR begins as a dark forest scent. The heart of noble woods, resinous incenses, exotic spices and warm balsams evoke feelings of comfort and cheer while a single drop of Oak represents the seed of the King’s lighter side, now concealed. Christi’s special “Sugarplum” accord (a key element of The Longing) provides a familiar hymn of gourmand beauty to this otherwise dark and resinous holiday fragrance." - a note from the brand.
