American jazz musician Herb Alpert founded his own perfume company and presented two fragrances: Listen and Listen for Men. Listen for Men was introduced in 1991. Composed by jazz musician and artist, Listen for Men is an olfactory translation of musical impulses. Top notes: lemon, bergamot, mandarin and mint. Heart: cyclamen, fruity notes, basil, geranium, carrot, jasmine and rose. Base: musk, cedar, amber and tonka bean. The bottle borrows its shape from the trumpet for which Alpert is known. Outer packaging is in deep blue-violet, as rich as an Alpert jazz melody.
